Proper mains-pressure hot water for houses with more than one bathroom. We're G3 qualified, so we fit them, certify them, and come back once a year to service them.
An unvented cylinder delivers hot water at mains pressure to every tap and shower in the house at once: no loft tank, no faltering gravity-fed flow, and no pump noise. If your home has two or more bathrooms, or you're adding one in a renovation, it's usually the right answer. We often install them in the loft alongside a system boiler, freeing up cupboard space downstairs.
Unvented cylinders store hot water under pressure, which is why the law requires G3-qualified installers. Every installation includes the full safety package of temperature and pressure relief, expansion control and a correctly-run discharge pipe, with Building Regulations notification and certificates issued on completion.
An unvented cylinder should be checked yearly: safety valves tested, expansion vessel recharged, filters cleaned, and the system verified against current regulations. Our cylinder service is from £110 + VAT (see our rates) and keeps most manufacturer warranties valid.
Sizing depends on bathrooms, people and boiler output. A family bathroom plus an en-suite usually wants somewhere around 210 to 250 litres, bigger houses more. We'll size it from how you actually live, not from what happens to be on the van.
